As always, none of the following is to be constituted as financial advice. Always do your own homework and speak to the relevant professionals.

We highlighted last week that there was a big tax boost for Canadian miners, which looks to take affect from 31st October 2026.

Therefore, it is a good idea to look at your portfolios and your exposure to Canadian miners between now and then. I’ve made a couple of changes to the portfolio this week.

Channel Sponsor Norsemont Mining (OTC: NRRSF, CSE: NOM) could be a company to keep an eye out for, as well as industry bell cows such as Newmont Corporation (NYSE: NEM), Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (XTSE: AEM) and Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE: B) to name a few.

There are so many Canadian mining companies to choose from, so it is important that you do your own homework and make decisions that work best for you. My suggestion is to look to recalibrate your portfolio before the end of October, as most of mainstream probably isn’t even aware of the ‘Productivity Mega Deduction’ and how it will benefit miners.

Just because Deutsche Bank have forecast copper prices doubling by $22,050 (roughly $10 per lb USD) by mid-2027, that doesn’t mean that will actually happen. You will be aware that there are significant supply issues in Copper.

Therefore, combining the above makes a company such as Nine Mile Metals (CSE: NINE) (OTCQB: VMSXF) (FSE: KQ9) potentially worth looking at. They were featured on the channel this week and you can read that here.
