Tax Increases are coming YOUR way

First of all, tax is an absolute pain in the backside. If I was in charge of the country then I would rip up the current tax system and just charge a flat rate tax of 15% for everything. I guarantee that that would actually increase tax revenues because:

1)     15% sounds like a fair number and it has worked for Singapore

2)     15% seems like a sweet spot, where going to the supreme effort of being ‘tax efficient’ might not actually be worth it to some people, thus generating more revenue as a result

Cue the cries from all of the tax accountants, the civil servants and anyone involved in dealing with the relatively complex tax system that we have here in the UK.

Taxes

UK Taxes are at a 70 year high and it seems as though we are actually getting poorer and poorer. Energy bills are continuing to increase due to disastrous energy policies that we’ve had in the last 20 years. Unfortunately that is unlikely to change because of the charge towards net zero and all of that nonsense that comes with it.

Tax Increases will be coming YOUR way in the UK and especially after the Chancellor Rachel Reeves has identified a ‘’black hole’’ of £22 BILLION in public finances.

Maybe giving out all of those public pay increases might not have been the wisest idea after all?

Of course, because there is a big black hole in the public purse, the answer has to be tax increases (sarcasm intentional). The October budget (due on 30th October 2024) is going to be a hell of a laugh (sarcasm again).

At no point is there any indication that the Government needs to look at cutting spending.

Maybe shifting some of those civil servants off of the pay roll might be a good place to start?
