US Sanctions - why they've shot themselves in the foot

The end of the US Empire is nigh

The moment the US sanctioned Russia and seized assets, the global power game switched from the West to the East. Any trust that countries had with the US went up in flames.

Why?

Because the US is making up the rules of the game as they go along and are expecting everyone to adhere to their rules.

Being from England and loving history, I appreciate that Empires come and go. They are earnt, maintained, have their time in the sun before slowly fading away into the abyss of the history books. Our island has committed multiple errors over the years. Ultimately too much tax and mistrust of the colonies (and the colonies mistrust of our government) meant that things are what they are today.

The US has rung its own bell on its Empire by its actions over the last couple of years.
