Dr

Anas Alhajji
was on the podcast last week (recorded Tuesday 17th June) and I would highly recommend that you listen to that as it gives an overview of:

1 - Why Iran will likely not close the Strait of Hormuz

2 - Why any revolution in Iran has to come from within

3 - Why China and Russia would not back any pro US movement in Iran

Summary of the major indices last week

DOW JONES = UP 9.03 points (0.02%)

NASDAQ = DOWN -4.65 points (-0.02%)

S & P 500 = DOWN -9.11 points (-0.15%)

DAX = DOWN -165.68 points (-0.70%)

FTSE 100 = DOWN -88.60 points (-1.00%)

NIKKEI = UP 445 points (1.17%)

HANG SENG = DOWN -362.08 points (-1.52%)

Plenty of anomalies last week. Due to the US Indices gapping either up or down to start the week, we see the Dow Jones with a positive number on the week despite the red candle.

Ultimately, not much change in the stock markets the previous week. The biggest movers being the Asian markets where the Nikkei (Japan) was up 1.17% and the Hang Seng (Hong Kong) down 1.52%.

The week ahead could see a return to high volatility due to the events that unfolded at the weekend.
